    Als je een nieuwe helm aan gaat schaffen, let dan op de volgende dingen:
    • De helm moet goed passen en niet knellen. Ook niet na een paar minuten.
    • Als je met je hoofd schudt, mag de helm niet verschuiven.
    • De helm moet zo zitten, dat je niet op de binnenkant van je wangen bijt.
    • Als je een bril draagt, moet deze niet op je neus gaan 'zweven'.
    • De helm moet zo zitten, dat je kin niet tegen de binnenkant van de helm zit aangedrukt. Hier moet minimaal 1 vingerdikte ruimte tussen zitten.
    • De binnenvoering van de helm zal na korte tijd slinken, waardoor de helm wat ruimer wordt.
    • Meet je hoofdomvang op het breedste punt, over de oren. De gemeten hoofdomvang in centimeters bepaalt je helmmaat. De helmmaat kan bij ieder merk verschillen. Het gemiddelde:
